Principal's Message - November 2024

Dear Bobcat Families,

November is a great time to take a moment to reflect and be thankful. Thank you for your support; we could not do what we do without you! Thank you for entrusting us with your students and partnering with us to make their social, emotional, and academic experience a positive one here at Benson Middle School. It is a blessing showing up to campus every day to help shape the lives of so many wonderful students.

We are thankful for our awesome Bobcat Family here at Benson Middle School. Our teachers and staff are hardworking and dedicated professionals with a “true heart” for all students. Being able to build relationships with students, staff, and parents that we respect and trust is priceless.

Building positive communication and relationships between our staff, parents, and students is extremely important. Please reach out in advance if you foresee future absences, or after an unexpected absence. We look forward to hearing from you. Please keep in mind that student attendance on Fridays is important because students take District Formative Assessments (DFAs).

Benson Middle School’s girls softball, boys basketball, and coed cheer teams have started their quarter 2 seasons and are doing well.  Eligibility reports are run every Monday morning, so please be sure to check your student-athlete’s grades on PowerSchool regularly to ensure they are eligible.  We would like to invite parents to attend our extra-curricular events which can be found on our website.

Lastly, this month we invite your family to complete another Family Dare, which focuses on being grateful. Take five minutes each morning for everyone in the family to share one thing they are grateful for. This allows everyone to start each day with a mind and heart filled with gratefulness.

As Scarlett Lewis said, “It’s hard to have a grateful thought and a negative thought at the same time!”

I’m grateful for your partnership,

Thomas Webb Sr.
